Bottles, Dedication, And Doctor

This has been a very eventful week. Last Wednesday we gave MaKenna a bottle for the first time. Zach was super excited and grinning from ear to ear b/c he was getting to feed her. I cried.
She is doing great with it, if anyone but me gives it to her. We discovered this on Friday when She and I tried to run a few errands to get ready for her baby dedication this weekend. We made a few stops then we tried to venture to the commissary. We made it inside got a  buggy and she got very fussy. I thought no big deal I will go to the and sit on the couched and give her a bottle. Not what happened. She refused a bottle by screaming with people walking in and looking at me. So we went back to the car and I nursed her while we scorched in the sunlight. Everything seemed a little better then she started screaming again. I changed her in the car and I don't know if I have mentioned this before but she doesn't much poo unless she has her diaper off. Which I don't much blame her who wants poo all over there backside. So every time you change her that is when she goes and let me tell you there is projection to it we are talking on walls, diaper genie etc. Well she decided to go in the car with her diaper off it got on the seat and she was aiming for my face but I was to quick with another diaper for that. She continued to have a melt down with sweat beads pouring off of her. I told her fine we would just go home not a big deal I will do this when I have help. We got in the car cranked up the air conditioner and she was fine. I told myself I can't give up b/c I am going to have to do this by myself for a year. So she and I had a talk and we made a few other errands without a hitch. We were so proud of ourselves.

On Sunday We had MaKenna's baby dedication.  We are so blessed MaKenna has so many people who love her and came to support us. It meant so much to us and we are so thankful to everyone who came. After church everyone came to the house for lunch and we had a great time.

   

Today we had our one month Doctors appointment. She is still perfect as we already new of course. She weighed 10lbs 6oz and was still 20.5in long. So she had gained weight but still hasn't grown any I have a feeling she is going to be short like her momma and still love to eat. Bless her heart.

3 Weeks Old

 I can't believe our baby girl is 3 weeks old!! She is staying awake for longer at a time now. She loves to stare at our red walls. Not real sure what she sees in it but she loves it. She loves to get her exercise in on one of her mats and will sometimes cry b/c she wants to be on her mat so she can kick. We love to watch her little legs go well primarily her right leg. I wonder if this means she will be right handed. If so that makes me very nervous I don 't know how I will teach her anything. I guess learning to write our name will be Zach's job.
    Daddy was off Thursday and Friday of last week and MaKenna and Mommy were very excited to have a long weekend with him. On Thursday I had to go to the dentist for My 2nd attempt at a root canal (they started it on Tuesday and due to the fact that my roots were longer than my dentist had ever seen he sent me to a specialist on Thursday. Zach and MaKenna sat in the car during the lengthy appt. While waiting Zach had to go to the Restroom. I would to have loved to have been A fly on the wall for this. He ruled out the cheveron b/c he felt like that would be just  too nasty, and after consideration of others he chose the Hardee's. So he took MaKenna into the restroom He chose to go into a stall b/c he just thought that was better. He said there was no where to hang the car seat. (I busted out laughing when he was telling me this. Really?? Where did you think you were going to "hang" the car seat. He thought about holding her but didn't think that was wise either. So he decided to sit the car seat on the floor and at least the germs wouldn't get on her. I just would've love to have been a bystander while he was trying to figure this out.

   ON Sunday we made our first trip church I was so proud it only took me 3 and a half hrs to get breakfast cooked and everybody ready!! She looked adorable.

These 2 sleepy heads are one of the reasons it took us  3 hrs to get ready. But how adorable are they. Daddy got her dressed for Church. Mommy noticed when we got home he had put her shirt on backwards. But nobody noticed.

 

   Monday was MaKenna and my first day by ourselves our accomplishment for that day was we both had a bath and supper cooked before Zach got home.

Helping Momma cook supper. Please excuse the Kitchen floor. It was going to be replaced before the deployment but it isn't looking like that is going to happen. Zach's leaving is coming wayt to soon and our weekends are being filled with other obligations. So I guess I will live with it for a year. Don't judge.

      Tuesday we made our first outing by ourselves with only a few minor Mishaps. One thing I haven't figured out yet is how to be taller. I can't see over the car seat when it is in the buggy. I ran slam into a cooler at the commissary b/c didn't see it.

2 Weeks Old.

It is soo hard to believe that MaKenna is already 2 weeks old!! And it is amazing how much she changes everyday. She is starting to stay awake more when she is allowed. Between her Nana and MawMaw (they took turns staying with us this week) holding her all of the time she sleeps a lot!! She is absolutely spoiled rotten. She is still sleeping pretty well at night if she doesn't sleep to much during the day, although I still can't complain b/c she does let me get some sleep.

   This past week I thought we were getting enough sleep but apparently when we are asleep we aren't fully asleep, B/c Zach and I have done crazy things. One night I woke up and was trying to tell him to get MaKenna off of me to burp her. I thought I was feeding her in the bed. He couldn't understand what I was saying. I repeated myself many times "Get.. Here.. Off... OF.. me. Get... MaKenna." I said this many times and slower and louder each time. Then all at the same time Zach realized what I was saying jumped around and out of bed looking for her and I pulled back my covers and saw she wasn't there. I busted out laughing!! He was afraid he had knocked her off the bed or something when I realized I was dreaming. We laughed for several minutes when we realized what we had done. And due to injuries acquired during MaKenna's arrival day Laughing was very painful! After we were finished laughing we went into her room to make sure she was in her Bed. I not sure if that makes us bad parents or not that we didn't go look for her first and then Laugh about it. The other bad thing is we forgot all about it until Zach ask me about it at supper the next day. I have also woke up patting Zach on the back thinking MaKEnna was crying and I was comforting her.

This week she really discovered she could stretch out and kick her legs. She loves to lay on her bear might and exercise. She liked to look at the lights on her baby Einstein radio so Sunday night we got out her play mat. With all the toys she was on sensory overload. So we took off most and the lighted aquarium and octopus occupy her for quite some time. She Loves it.

Last Monday MaKenna was 5 days old, and we went to have newborn pictures made. I am soo excited about them and Have absolutely no Idea how I will decide. Here are a few of them.

MaKenna is One week Old

I know I know. I  am extremely late on posting, But we have just been extremely busy Holding here, watching her sleep, watching her sit in her swing, holding her some more and so on. I mean it is a full time job!
So anyway MaKenna was born  One week ago today on March 2, 2011 at 9:13 am. She was 8lbs 2oz and 19 1/2in. long. She is absolutely gorgeous and healthy.
  It is hard to believe that she is already one week old. And she has already changed so much. Even though she loves to sleep she is beginning to stay awake a lot more well for like 10-15 min. At a time. She has now learned she can actually stretch out her legs and move and loves to do that!. She has slept in her own bed so far since we have been home. Well except for after her morning feeding Daddy sneaks her in the bed with him while Mommy gets up to get a shower. Trust me the fact that she is in her bed right now is hard for me to believe too. And I debated and debated but came to the conclusion that I felt more comfortable with her there b/c of all of the monitors. (We have one that alarms if she quites breathing and trust me we have tested it out multiple times, and check and double check that it is on each night.)

   She had a lot of Visitors At the hospital. So I won't try to post pictures of everyone b/c That takes entirely to long, But thanks to everyone who came by to see our baby girl.

Her First Bath. She screamed during Bath time but as soon as we covered her up she was content. This Child cannot stand to show skin. Which her daddy loves and says it needs to stay like that!

On Sunday we took her to her first Dr. Visit. She Still weighed 8lbs. And the Dr. said everything looked great.

On Monday we had Newborn Pictures Made. Hopefully I will have those proofs by the end of this week first of next week.

On Tuesday MaKenna was soo excited she had Visitors again. Maw Maw Betty, Aunt Joyce, Aunt Joann, Aunt Lisa and Bro John was actually brave enough to take a road trip with this crew and come to see here.
