1. Well first things first. Please do not think that I am a bad mom b/c I gave my perfectly healthy, non-sick/allergy child benadryl. It was recommended by a pediatrician. Well we all no one reason for the benadryl, to make her sleep, but another reason is to dry up the extra fluid to prevent her ears hurting with the pressure change. So see with that information it doesn"t sounds so bad. Of course we also had the bottles for take off and landing, and lots and lots of PRAYER!! All of this came together to make it a successful flight. MaKenna did Great!!
2. Now I know for most people flying with an infant isn't that much of a big deal. But for this small town chick who has flown once in her life, flying by myself is a big deal!! And yes I am married to a pilot. I was told it was like being married to a construction worker and never getting any work done on your on house.
3. People are supper nice in the Airport.I couldn't tell you how many times people offered to help me. I had help with my stroller every time, people putting my carry-on bags up for me, and one guy even waited on my stroller and car seat so that I could get MaKenna out of the crowd and brought it to me. I know that deep down inside everyone would cringe when they saw they were on a flight with an infant. But then after we landed they were all amazed at how good she did.
4. I was the one they chose to search and pat down!! Of course that would be my luck. With everything I had. They had to get out all of my milk test it, and pat down MaKenna and I.It took forever to get all of my belongings together. Someone on one of my flights said, Did you tell them you are going to see your husband who is protecting us from the people u think i might be.
But now that I have been through it I can comment on all of the complaining I have heard on the news about the searching. And all I have to say is shut-up, grow-up, and quite being so selfish. It is not that big of a deal, not one time did I feel uncomfortable or that they were touching me or my baby in appropriately. They were very professional and if that is what it takes to keep us safe then so be it!
Waiting on our flight.
We made it to Texas, Zach was so excited to finally hold MaKenna again.
This was about 1130 at night we are a little tired so don't judge.
It was a great trip!! But was of course not long enough. I will try to post real soon about the trip itself.
