We Ain't as Young as We Used to Be!

On Saturday we went to Braden's Birthday Party. It was a skating party in which I was not planning on skating. When we arrived I was quickly informed that Andrew had selected me to be his skating partner. Might I add I was wearing flip flops!! Luckily they sold socks.
So it has been well over 10 years since I have roller skated, it takes a minute for your muscles and balance to remember how to do so. I sat down to put on my skates with a crowd of party goers around and by the time I was all lace up and ready to go everyone had disappeared. So I had try to shuffle over to the others without busting my tale.
Braden gladly held my hand a couple of times around the rink and then he said "its time for you to let go you can do it" So in "1 min" Braden taught me how to skate. He said he was such a great teacher it only took 1 minute.
It didn't take to long until Bethany and I were showing off our skills I only had 2 crashed I believe, BUt my hips and knees were feeling the effects all night long!!
On Sunday MaKenna caught a little Lake time with Uncle Josh

Bi-Monthly Get together

Last weekend was another busy weekend and eventful. On Friday MaKenna got up and headed to CC with Maw Maw while I went to work. As usual Friday was very busy!!For some unknown reason people think that they need the weekend to recover from a colonoscopy. I have no Idea why I mean it isn't like they are going 3 days without food or anything right?? So I didn't get off work until 4:00 and was supposed to be in Anniston by 6. Now it takes me 30 minutes to get home from work and then another 2 hrs to head to the party. And I still had to pack!! Now you do the math. Obviously I was a little pressed for time and the officer just didn't understand that. I was going through the big town when I just happened to look up and see blue lights in my rear view mirrior. I had no Idea how long they had been behind me. The officer walked up and said "Ma'am Why are you in such a hurry." I though for a split second about playing the pity card, well you see sir my husband is deployed I am not real good at this single parent thing, a lot of patients needed my attention today and I am just trying to get to my baby girl who I haven't seen ALL day!!" But then I decided it wasn't worth the effort and just said no reason and hung my head. Luckily I got out with only a warning though. Oh and I should mention that while all this was going on Ellie was in the car growling at the officer.
So I obeyed all or most traffic laws for the remainder of my trip swung by to pick up MaKenna and then we headed on to the get together.
Another side note I hadn't been home 1 hr and there was a message on My parents answering Machine just checking to see if Krystal got pulled over that sure did look like her Car. And I thought Welcome back to CC. When you live in a small town you can do absolutely nothing with out your parents finding out. Which would in turn be why I want to eventually get back there so that I will be informed of every move MaKenna makes.

We had a blast at our get together MaKenna had a great time playing with her BFF's she even decided to share her Paci with Reese although we were to slow with the Cameras to catch it. The world's problems could definitely be solved at these get togethers but we will never tell of the things we discuss.

Anna Kate is going to be such a good Big sister

Pool Time And Visiting

We went home last weekend it was as usual a busy weekend of running around trying to visit with every one. But on Saturday Morning we did sneak in a little relaxation By the pool.

MaKenna Loves the pool and Mommy learned at the beach last week How to wear her out at the pool and then she falls asleep and I get to soak up a little sun. Or you can just go to MawMaw's and she will entertain MaKenna while I catch up on my Vitamin D Consumption.

Then on Saturday night we had a Family get together And MaKenna got in a little time with Granny and Grandaddy.

Bananas!!!

On Wednesday when we went for our 4 month Check up Dr Tyler gave us the go ahead to start tryin out solid foods. I was very excited to get this news!! But I decided that since we would be heading to the beach this weekend I would put off introducing new foods in order to prevent having a tummy ache while on Vacation.  On Friday night I could stand it no longer. So we headed to the store and bought some Bananas. I rationalized it by saying Bananas coat the stomach. So surely it wouldn't be too hard on her. So we did and she loved them. It took her a little bit to figure out what exactly she was supposed to do, and if there were any chunks that didn't get mashed up good she would spit them out. All and All I THought it was very successful. I was prepared to have bananas all over the both of us and the house but it was just on the 2 of us. And she loved them! We just have to teach her manners b/c she likes to smack when she is eating.

She Saw Him

I think MaKenna actually saw her Daddy today on the Computer. Before you could tell that she recognized his voice but it was like she didn't see him I don't know if her eyes didn't have the ability yet to focus on his image on the screen or what. But I believe that today she saw him.
TOday she looked at the computer screen with recognition on her face. The way she looks at his picture each morning. And the way she stared at him while we were in Texas.
I laid her in the floor with him and she attempted to show him her new tricks of rolling over but was to busy talking to him and staring at him. She Loves her Daddy and as we all know she already has him wrapped around her finger from 6,000 plus miles away.

4 Month Checkup.

On Wednesday we went for MaKenna's 4 month checkup Where we received the official weight of 14lbs 3 ozs and 14 1/4 in long. We had to get shots again this time. She was such a big girl. She didn't even flinch for the first 2 and only cried a little n the last one. And I don't believe she got any of the Rota virus vaccine b/c no matter what the nurse did She couldn't out smart MaKenna, she kept spitting it out. Dr Tyler said that she was perfect and that we could start trying solid foods, which is very exciting!!
After the Dr we met PawPaw and Janice for Lunch. We were very excited to get to see them.

July 4th Weekend

We  had a long busy weekend in Clay Co. for the 4th of July. Our Thursday morning started off with a trip to the windsheild doctor. My windsheild was overdue for this visit by about 1 year. I have horrible luck with windsheilds so decided I would keep a broken one as long as I could. My husband didn't like this plan I think he was a little embarased by my broken windsheild. But it had finally gotten into my line of view so something had to be done. And let me tell you how wonderful it was driving to CC with out a headach due to the crack in my line of view.
After we arrived in CC we headed to meet Aunt Bethany and the boys so that we could "get our hair Did" After the beauty shop we headed to Burber King so the boys could play. We had to explain to them that MaKenna still has fun just sitting and watching them. They had planned on her sliding down the slide with them. With one of them on each of her sides. They had good intentions. Friday and Saturday were spent just hanging out. MaKenna enjoyed riding on Poppa's new toy and he swore she would start crying whenever he turned it off.
On Saturday we learned we could get our foot to our mouth.
Sunday after Church we headed to the lake we only had time to feed our faces and then we headed to MaKenna's good friend Anna Kate's 2 yr Birthday party. We rode to the party with Uncle Jay and Aunt Ollie, we introduced them to MaKenna's love of riding. They said that the screaming didn't bother them but I think they must just really love MaKenna though. They may not ever allow us to ride with them again either. But we had a great time at the Birthday Party MaKenna loved swinging in Anna Kate's swing her Mommy is going to have to go buy one now.

Monday we hung out at MawMaw Char's where MaKenna met her Aunt Hope, Uncle Flem and cousin Trey. We only got a picture with Trey, due to the fact that the busy weekend had given her out and she slept the day away.

On Tuesday MaKenna got to go over to her BFF Addison's for a play Date. We had a great time hanging out and playing and then we headed back home.

We got home in time to catch Daddy's phone call, and MaKenna attempted to show him her trick of turning over.

4 Months

MaKenna at 4 months you are still the sweetest most adorable little girl. You weigh 14lbs 3 oz and are 24 1/4ins long. You are becoming mobile!! In your on little way of course. You learned to roll over a couple of weeks ago and now mommy can't keep you on a blanket. I told Daddy he needed to send us a rug So that when you do roll off at least you want be directly on the hard floor.
I may be a bad mommy but we don't have a schedule you eat when you are humgry and go to sleep when you are sleepy. But you have pretty much formed your on schedule. When mommy is home,You usually wake up around 0800, and it is the sweetest thing. When I go in to get you out of bed you turn and look at me with the sweetest grin and those beautiful (still blue) eyes. It melts mommys heart every morning. After that we of course change your diaper and then we mark off another day on our calendar. I give you an update on the countdown, and we do a little dance/cheer. We do not count the day that we are in the number of days till daddy comes home b/c that is just a rule mommy goes by.  Then we  play until around 0900 or so and you decide to eat. you are still usually take  a 5 oz bottle when you take a bottle but now you often times go longer between eating, usually 2 1/2 to 3 hrs.  Sometime aroung lunch you usually take about a 2 hour nap this is when Mommy gets housework done. Then between 1:00 and 3:00 we turn on the computer and hope we get to talk to Daddy that day of course we play while we are waiting on him to call. After that we usually go to town if Mommy needs to and then about 6:00 you, Ellie and I usually take a walk. You absolutely love to be out side and when we go walking you love watching Ellie run ahead of us and usually close to the end you decide to take a cat nap.
Then around 7:30 we start settling down for bed. We read one of Daddys books sometime a couple of times and then Mommy usually reads you a book or two. You nurse and then we rock and mommy usually puts you to bed aroung 8:30. These days you usually just wake up one time a night around 0400 which mommy appreciates greatly.
You are growing so much and learning so many new tricks and discovering new things. Mommy can't believe it and she and Daddy love you very much!!
